Job Description:
As an Applications Engineer specializing in gasket design, you will:
- Collaborate with premier aftermarket and OEM customers to understand and fulfill gasket design requirements.
- Utilize CAD software to create detailed prints and new layouts for dies and injection molds.
- Manage the tooling department’s schedules to ensure the timely completion of new products.
- Partner with the R&D department to develop and validate new designs and materials.
- Provide technical support and materials recommendations to the sales team.
- Collaborate with Quality and Production to ensure that product design and customer expectations align with manufacturing capabilities.
- Input pertinent information into the MRP system for new products to ensure proper BOM and manufacturing routings are established.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
Experience and Proficiencies: At least 3-5 years of experience in the automotive or powersports industry, specifically working with powertrain components. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks is required.
Analytical Skills: Ability to organize and lead projects effectively, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers, sales teams, and internal technical departments.
Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills to address design challenges and ensure compliance with technical specifications.
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, tool & die, production, and sales.
